Day 1
ARRIVAL ADDIS ABABA – SIGHTSEEINGS
Arrival Addis Ababa and meet the North Ethiopia eco Tour representative. Then transfer your hotel. Depending on your arrival time make sightseeing in Addis Ababa.
Day 2
ADDIS ABABA – BAHAR DAR ( DRIVE )
In morning after breakfast drive to Bahirdar through Debre Libanos monastery.Debre Libanos is an important monastic centre for Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity.
Day 3
EXCURSSION IN BAHIR DAR ( LAKE TANA & BULE NILE FALLS )
In the morning after breakfast make boat trip on Lake Tana to visit isolated monasteries. There is good birding in the lush forest surrounding much of the lake. Then drive to the thundering Blue Nile Falls. Along the walk to the falls, birding is excellent.
Day 4
BAHIR DAR – GONADR
In the morning drive to Gondar. Then city tour of Gondar including a visit to the Royal Compound, where enchanting 17th century castles stand. Also, visit DebreBerhan Selassie Church meaning Trinity at the Mount of Light.
Day 5
GONADR – SIEMEN MTS. NATIONAL PARK
Morning after breakfast drive to the jagged panorama of the Simien Mountains National Park, famed for its exclusive landscape, afro-alpine vegetation and unique wildlife, where you may spot the endemic Wallia Ibex, Gelada Baboon troops, Bushbuck, Klipspringer.
Day 6
SIEMEN MTS. NATIONAL PARK – AXUM
Drive to Axum Through beautiful escarpment of Siemen Mountains and Tekeze river valley.
Day 7
AXUM – SIGHT SEEINGS
Morning after breakfast explores the city of Axum. Visit the interesting museum in stelae field, the impressive Stelae Fields and also the grounds of the 16th-century Cathedral of St. Mary of Zion, home of the original Ark of the Covenant.
Day 8
AXUM – MEKELE
In the morning after breakfast drive to Mekele and on the way visit Yeha temple and Debre Damo Monastery.
Day 9
MEKELE – LALIBELA
In the morning after breakfast drive to Lalibela and on the way visit some local market and Lake Ashenge.
Day 10
LAIBELA – SIGHTSEEING
Lalibela is famous for its rock-hewn churches dating back 800 years. This is the most important stop on the historical route and the 11 churches, carved into the rugged mountainside, present an awesome spectacle. Afternoon excursion to the most spectacular churches.
Day 11
LALIBELA – KOMBOLCHA
Morning after breakfast drive to Kombolcha.
Day 12
KOMBOLCHA – ADDIS ABABA
After breakfast drive back to Addis on the way enjoy the natural landscapes. Evening fair well dinner.
